Why Tech Write use a Copywriting Agreement

Much of what we do in a copywriting project is taken on good faith – we do our very best to meet the needs of our customers every single time. But we also like to have a signed agreement in place before we put pen to paper (or more accurately, fingers to keyboard).

Why? To protect our clients’ interests as much as our own for starters.

Our copywriting agreement is a bit like a paper-based version of these people performing ahandshake

Our copywriting agreement is a bit like a paper-based handshake

We use a copywriting agreement so you know what we are doing and when

Sometimes we work with clients who know they need something written, but are not entirely sure what that is. Which is fine because we will work through the issue with you to produce some decent suggestions to take forward.

We then formalise these requirements as part of our copywriting agreement so the client knows what we will be delivering to them and other activities we undertake as part of the copywriting process. We also set deadlines in advance so that our clients get what they need, when they need it. The agreement ensures that everyone is working to the same schedule and offers a reference point from which we write.

We use a copywriting agreement so you know when the project is over

Hopefully you really enjoy working with Tech Write, but any project should have a natural conclusion (unless you want to take up one of our rolling content creation services). The copywriting agreement will define when we will deliver content and establish a deadline by which you need to submit revision requests.

This way we all know when the project will complete and payment needs to be made, allowing you to calculate cash flow requirements just a little more easily.

We use a copywriting agreement to prevent potential disputes

We’re a pretty affable bunch at Tech Write so any disputes are more like kicking a puppy. In the event you come up with any queries, our copywriting agreement is our first point of reference. If we have made a mistake, Tech Write will immediately work to rectify the problem to your satisfaction and against the agreed project milestones.

Similarly if Tech Write run into any problems, we refer our customers back to the agreement as this is the document against which we work.

If that all sounds a bit hardcore, don’t panic! The whole agreement takes less than a single sheet of A4 and boils down to a simple rule by which we work: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Our copywriting agreement helps us look out for your interests as well as our own.
